What is tomato purée? I’m from Canada. Is it tomato paste…?

I left out the mushrooms as I was batch cooking so I could add to a portion later and blitzed the veg but each to their own 🌹

Hi Susan! Thanks so much for your comment - so pleased you like the look of the ragu!! Hope you get to give it a try! Ahhh yes - hob/stove - is it stove in America? And mince/ground. Noted!! I'll try to be more aware in future!! Thanks for pointing it out! To make it even more confusing we call mince pie filling mincemeat as well 😂

Your slow cooker rage recipe looks delicious.
I was thrown a bit by a couple of terms but when I got to the word hob, I realized I was reading English English, not American English.
We use the word ground, past tense of grind. I’ll never forget when I was tutoring a young man from Iran who had written a recipe for an assignment. He wrote “grinded” meat as one of the ingredients. I corrected him and told him it should be “ground” meat. He got very indignant a pointed down and said “Then what do you call this!” this

I love how it's based on a childhood recipe too. Thank you so much for sharing with #CookOnceEatTwice x

We long to explore Italy after visiting a few places last year during our Carnival holiday. This ragu looks and sounds delicious! Thank you for sharing with #CookBlogShare x
